Port St Johns, central to the Wild Coast

 Colonel Daniel Kampher, who is out on bail, also faces internal charges ranging from insubordination to the alleged misuse of a state vehicle and fraud for allegedly misappropriating R255000 from a police tea club fund in Port St Johns.

Despite the criminal and internal charges, Kampher remained in the police force and over a three-year period was transferred from station to station.
